Instructional Webpages:Â Translating Complex Processes into Step-by-Step Guidance
International students and scholars frequently need help navigating complex immigration processes to remain visa compliant. Similarly, departmental liaisons require guidance on the visa sponsorship process for international faculty, researchers, and university employees, which can be difficult to navigate due to the wide range of visa categories and regulatory requirements involved.
To support these users, I partnered with senior compliance advisers to develop and maintain instructional webpages that translated complex immigration procedures into clear, step-by-step guidance. Because USCIS policies and regulatory guidance frequently change, this work required ongoing monitoring and regular updates to ensure information remained accurate and compliant.
Working closely with subject matter experts, I synthesized evolving USCIS guidance and internal advising protocols into structured, task-oriented content designed for a global ESL audience. In addition to written instructions, I designed visual guidance assets, including infographics, screenshots, and process diagrams, to improve comprehension and help users follow multi-step procedures more easily.
These pages break down complex processes into sequential steps, clarify requirements and timelines, and enable students, scholars, and departmental staff to complete critical immigration-related tasks with greater confidence and independence.
